iPhone Apps Overtaking Songs in Total Downloads

But wait, you voracious internet statsmongers… comparing apps to music is like comparing apples to oranges, bagels to palm trees, Euros to tables or, well, apps to music.  The take-up of both is incredible, yes, but they’re entirely different services (apart from a small overlap of music streaming apps) with widely different audiences being introduced at very differing times.  Just because it’s the same distribution channel doesn’t mean we should be comparing them.
